Day 18. Springdale to Cedar City, Utah.  85 miles. We drove through a lot of volcanic hills on our way and also stopped at the Kolob Canyon section of Zion National Park. This is another area of soaring weathered peaks and valleys, breathtaking! Dad walked down the road quite a way to remove a lot of jagged rocks the size of softballs from the roadbed, many that could blow a tire. He is definitely the good citizen of the day!
We walked around downtown Cedar City and had ice cream at an old time soda fountain.
Tomorrow we plan to visit the site of the Mountain Meadow massacre.
