Day-15 of the Utah Trip, in Page, Arizona.  Spent a few hours at the enormous Glen Canyon Dam.  Hiked across the bridge that spans the spectacular canyon and spent time in the excellent visitor center that details the history and construction of the dam.  The town of Page is one of the fasting growing areas in the country -- surrounded by barren but beautiful desert -- solely because of the dam and huge Lake Powell created by the dam.  Boating and tourism is in full swing, many of the tourists also visiting the Grand Canyon and other national parks in the region.  We drove the loop through the Lake Powell National Recreation Area, alongside part of the lake, and then revisited the John Wesley Powell Museum in town, a very interesting facility.  Tomorrow we head to Springdale, Utah, and Zion National Park.

  2. The wind was very strong and the bridge was bouncing a bit. A great walk.
