34 miles today. We headed to Devil's Tower early and enjoyed a brisk, 44 degrees to start out,  walk around it with very few others on the trail. Saw deer, squirrels and prairie dogs as well as 2 climbers half way up the tower. The place is just awsome! By the time we left tour buses were disgourging hundreds of foreign tourists at the tower.
We enjoyed lunch in the gift shop there. We then drove up on the mesa above Hulett where hugh adarondack style homes have a magnificent view of the Devil's Tower 9 miles away. There was an amazing golf course on the mesa and in its canyons and an airport on top. Later spent an hour at a second excellent small museum in Hulett. The fellow who owns the museum was a forest service archaeologist, taught courses locally in Indian studies and is a collector of Hulett history. 4.8 miles walked so far today.
We will head out in an hour for another good dinner and then plan to spend more time at Bob Coronado ' s place. Everything here is within 2 blocks of our hotel which is nice.
