251 miles from Fremont, Nebraska to North Platte,  Nebraska, all on Rt 30, the old Lincoln Highway. First stop was Glur's Tavern in Columbus where Buffalo Bill ate as well as many Lincoln Highway travelers.  Today it gets tourists. We got caught by the world's longest Union Pacific train with 6 locomotives there! We drove through many small towns with old gas station buildings, general stores etc and one original Union Pacific depot from 1909. LOTS of train action along the whole route.
We bought a few more old fort bottles at our favorite antique shop here. The elderly lady at the desk remembered us from our last visit and had our bottles wrapped, boxed and a xerox copy of the price tags all waiting for us by the time we finished wandering the shop without us introducing ourselves first.
We are now at the hotel enjoying ice cold water as it is 96 outside. Off to Boulder tomorrow.
