270 miles from North Platte, NE to Boulder/Louisville, CO. We stopped in Julesburg to visit their Ft Sedgwick museum. We have some bottles dug up from the old fort area many years ago. The museum has many fort items, Indian items and early settler history. The Pony Express went through here and so did wagon trains to California. The present town is the 4th one of the same name as earlier ones burned down, washed away or were not near the UP railroad tracks when they went through.
The mountains were hidden by white clouds most of the way but are finally poppng out this evening. The 200 miles from Julesburg to our hotel were tiring as the landscape is bare and the same the whole way. Glad to be here finally.
Tomorrow we are off to the U Colorado archives.
