Spent today exploring the nooks and crannies of Flagstaff.  Along the way we stopped at five very cool antique/salvage shops, all much more interesting than the usual, boring antique mall.  I bought an old tin box marked A T & S F Ry.  The Santa Fe Rail Road was dominant in this region.  I also bought an interesting branding iron...in spite of Alice's reminder that we already have many back home (with many in the garage!).  She bought a pile of books relating to this region, interesting first-hand accounts by pioneers, prospectors, cowboys and others.
Lunch was at a food court in Flagstaff Mall.
Tomorrow, if all goes well, we hope to be "...standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona...".
    TAKE IT EASY, Ya'll.

  1. The manager of our hotel is Tya Manygoats. The very large Navaho Reservation fills most of North eastern Arizona and is not far from us.

  2. About 4 miles east of Flagstaff is about half of a large cinder cone being mined for landscape pumice, ground pumice to put on icy roads and pumace for stone washing jeans etc.

  3. Sounds like you’ll be coming home with some fun loot!

Did you ask Tya if she actually owns many goats?

  4. I love those Native American names and would love to write (or at least read) a book about them and their origins. I've seen that 'Murphy' can mean either potato, or sea warrior. Guess which one I prefer.
