Left Tucson this morning and are now on the north side of Phoenix. Stopped at the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum in Chandler on the way. The place has a large collection of old railroad passenger cars as well as some interesting working cars and a nice museum of train related collectables. The temperature was 106 while we were there walking 2.5 miles. Blistering! The traffic around Phoenix is terrible; can't begin to imagine what it's like at rush hour.
Late lunch at Waffle House and back to the hotel just in time to watch the Kentucky Derby where it was pouring rain.
Off to Camp Verde, AZ tomorrow.

  2. 106! Wow!! We had a beautiful day here. 80s. We went to the Arb on UM campus. It’s a big park along the Huron river. Lots of people out sunbathing and lounging in hammocks.

I watched the derby. It made me nervous to see the horses running in that mud but thankfully they all did ok!
