That emergency phone on the bridge is an attempt to alleviate the suicide problem. Note how far below is the Rio Grande. It's a little unnerving just to walk across that bridge and heavy trucks speeding by cause it to bounce a little.
That’s sad. I’m sure it’s there because of incidents that have taken place there. But hopefully it does the job and helps someone!
