Views of Ft Bowie ruins, abandoned in 1894. Also views on our walk including Apache Spring giving rise to the trees and why the Fort and stagecoach route were here.

  1. I hear rattlesnakes are attracted to bright orange. Great choice in colors there Pete.

  2. The signs don't download well. Pete is standing by one warning of rattlesnakes. The foundation is from the Butterfield stage station house. The line started in St Louis, ran through El Paso, across the pass here and on to Tombstone, Tuscon and California.

  3. Sounds like a great road trip route. Better buy those leather chaps Pete wanted.

  4. Marc...if you were a gentleman you would have realized that I wore orange to keep the rattlesnakes away from Alice! (As long as I kept moving I was ok. At least with regard to rattlers.)

  5. I stand corrected. Remember that after you get bit, stay calm, walk slowly to the car and hope there is an emergency room within 20 miles.
