Day 7: An exhausting day with 4.5 miles of walking around the Duluth waterfront and museums. We first headed to Canal Park and the Maritime museum just in time to see the huge liftbridge go up for a 700 foot ore ship coming in followed by a big Coast Guard cutter heading out to Lake Superior.  We stood under the lift bridge when it came down and Dad could touch it when it came to rest above him. The museum had interesting exhibits including Edmund Fitzgerald items found floating after it went down. We had lunch at Grandma's Saloon and Grill, a delicious lunch. Dad had walleye and I had sautéed vegetables in mushroom sauce on wild rice.
We returned to the railroad museum to look at the things we didn't see yesterday and spent  another 3 hours there.  The weather is 60 and sunny, perfect.
