Day 11: 160 miles from Bemidji to Baxter, MN via Grand Rapids. We looked at Judy Garland' s childhood home in Grand Rapids and then followed a long winding little used River Road following  the winding Mississippi River although it was hidden in trees much of the time.  We stopped at Crosby to visit it's railroad depot museum where lots of iron ore dug out of nearby mines was shipped by rail to Duluth in the early 1900s. We toured the place with a vanload of seniors on a field trip from a local nursing home. The town had at least 6 antique shops in 2 blocks but we came away with nothing but tired feet. We crossed the Big Muddy between Brainerd and Baxter and found our hotel. Very happy we stayed in Bemidji an extra night with only one night here. The temperature reached 88 today and humid.
