Why is it named Devil's Tower? Sounds scary. ~Liam
One and one half miles below the surface. That's amazing! I'm guessing that could contribute to why it's named Devil's Tower,it used to be buried deep underground.
In 1875 a colonel in the Army misinterpreted the native name (bear lodge) as Bad God's tower. That got changed to Devils tower.
